Tasha Tudor Day (August 28, 1915-June 18, 2008)

Clarice at Storybook Woods, along with Suzanne of Blueberry Cottage and Cay of Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks all invite us to commemorate Tasha Tudor’s legacy.
Today would have been her 93rd birthday. Her artwork and nearly one hundred books have been beloved by her legions of readers.

I would like to share one of my miniature books which was illustrated by Tasha. It is an edition of The Night Before Christmas by Clement Moore, illustrated by Tasha Tudor, published by Achille St. Onge, Worcester, Massachusetts. The book is 3 1/4 inches high by 2 1/2 inches wide. It has a printed dust cover illustrated by Tasha. The pages were printed in Holland and then bound in leather in France.

I took lots of photos of the little book but could not get clear images to share with you. However, Tasha Tudor’s illustrations are charming and evoke the delights of this beloved poem.

To learn all about Tasha Tudor, please go to the family web site. There you will also be invited to "visit the Tasha Tudor Memorial Website to post your memories of this extraordinary woman and how she touched the lives of so many people."

How lovely! I particularly like a painting of the Virgin over my girls' beds. She was a very gifted person. Isn't it wonderful when people go ahead and use their talents and offer them to the world to enjoy?
I wish I could do the same!
Well, thank you so much for the special award you have offered me. It really is very dear to my heart.
And thank you for stopping by and checking on me. I feel slightly better this afternoon. I trully appreciate your friendship, Carrie.
Sweetest blessings to you.
