Friday Show and Tell – Another Embroidered Tablecloth

Last Thursday I posted about a vintage white tablecloth embroidered in blue cross stitch.
Several bloggers indicated that they, like me, love blue and white. So for today’s Show and Tell I’d like to focus on another white tablecloth embroidered in blue. I bought this several years ago at a local antique shop. At 41" x 41" square, it is suitable as a dainty cloth for tea table.

The embroidery is done in blue floss and forms a pleasing pattern within rectangular or square panels. The panels are joined together to form the tablecloth.

Here it is folded in quarters (sorry that it isn't pressed.)

Vintage Thingies Thursday - Cross Stitch Tablecloth

In a visit to a local consignment shop in March I bought a few lovely vintage linens, including a couple embroidered tablecloths. Here is one of them, a white tablecloth with blue cross stitching.

This one was just for me, of course, because I enjoy nice linens, embroidery and blue and white.

Vintage Thingies Thursday – Tablecloth

My vintage item this week is a vintage linen tablecloth from my mother. With its light beige background and brown, mustard yellow and orange fruit and leaves, it will be great for a fall table setting.


The center design is a medley of fruit in a circular group.


The corner design is a basket of fruit with a ribbon on the handle.

Ribbons also hold small bunches of fruit around the border.

I can remember this cloth on the table in my mother’s house and am happy to add it to my table linens.
