WordFilled Wednesday – Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 KJV

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 NIV

For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV

It is amazing to consider that God would make a sacrifice for us. We do not even know what He gave up to give us the opportunity to live with Him eternally. However, the Scriptures assure us that when He comes again He will happily receive us and take us then to heaven!

Amazing indeed... thank you for sharing WFW with us. Happy Easter!

I love how you're having us consider - what did He give up for us to have the opportunity to live with Him eternally? How would Jesus' life turned out, had He decided to not complete the task at hand? Whoooh; His Love endures forever. The Blood He shed for us.

Hugs & Prayers, HL

Hi Carrie! Oh, yes! I remember a song from the last 70s called 'Heaven Must Have Missed You'...when Your Father kissed you goodbye. Oh, how the angels cried. Our Dear Jesus left heaven for us. Him being the perfect one, took our sins and died for me! That is so amazing I can hardly take it all in!
Thank you for posting this!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Would we have been as obedient if we were in His shoes? I can't begin to understand the depth of His love for each and every one of us that He would willingly give His life for ours.

Have a wonderful and blessed Easter!
