Three or More Tuesday – Dishes

Three or More Tuesday is sponsored by Tam at The Gypsy's Corner. Please visit her for more participating posts.

Each of my three sisters and I have several different sets or partial sets of dinnerware. While at my sister’s home on Florida’s Gulf coast last week I had fun seeing all the different dishes she has collected over the years. Each meal was served on a different pattern. Unfortunately, I did not think to take photos most of the time. But I did get at least three of them. Then I found photos on the web for the others.

This pattern is called "Paloma" and the design looks Tuscan. My sister and her husband used the plates and the bowls at different meals.

Here pink rose-shaped plates accompany pink plates bowls and mugs for a breakfast meal.

At a luncheon meal at the dining table square animal print plates in brown and beige were set with coordinating black and white napkins.

These parrot plates each have different color combinations. They were just perfect for a Mexican menu.

Here is a square-shaped gray ceramic pattern made in Portugal by Vista Alegre. My sister has plates, bowls and small sake cups. The the 8 inch square bowls of this contemporary pattern served nicely for a tofu and vegetables stir fry over steamed rice.

My sister enjoys whimsical things and the colorful ceramic series called "Dinner is Served" with its French chefs is just so much fun. It was designed by Tracy Slickinger for Certified International Corp. They found them last week at TJ Maxx. Here is the dinner plate:

This is the salad plate:
They also bought the mugs and salt and pepper set.Since they both enjoy watching the Food Network chefs Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, and Emeril Lagasse, these chef design wares were perfect for them. Some time ago they were at TJ Maxx and saw another chef pattern square dishes. All the store had were two dinner plates and an oval casserole. They bought them and have been looking for more to add to their set. They were made in Italy, designed by Brunelli.
Here is the dinner plate:

As a collector of blue and white transferware I was thrilled to see that my sister has some in Wedgwood Queen’s Ware. It is called "Romantic England" and each piece features a different illustration of a historic place. Since I failed to take photos, I am using some I got online from Replacements, Ltd. [I made the mosaic using instructions from our friend Laurie at Bargain Hunting and Chatting With Laurie]
Penhurst Place is shown on the rimmed soup bowls;
The Willy Lotts Cottage pattern embellishes the cups and saucers;
Moreton Old Hall, Cheshire is the illustration for the dinner plates;
Holy Trinity Church is on the mugs.

Thanks for visiting today. Please come back soon. I would enjoy reading your comment and will visit your blog as well.

The French chefs are so fun. That is totally the type of plates I would want to use. Gotta laugh every day.
