Blue Monday is sponsored by our gracious hostess, Sally at her blog, Smiling Sally.
Today we awoke to a pile of snow from a winter storm. As I got up I noticed one of two pictures on either side of the dresser in my room – a snow scene with lots of blue!
I purchased this framed piece in 1980 in California at an estate sale. It is a pastel painting of a lovely winter scene.
The frame is wood in with white finish with beaded edge highlighted in gold.
The French mat is a deep peach color with its signature ruled lines around a lighter color wash.
So I can look outside to gaze on a snowy landscape through the screened door in the kitchen,
or out the living room window.
I can also look at this lovely painted scene.
[Do note that I am not complaining about the snow, though I’ve been hoping not to have to pay for snow plowing any more this winter. I am just taking it in stride -- as well a New Englander should!]

love the pictures! we have lots snow today too.
Your snowy scene is lovely...both the framed print and the real thing!
Your real and painted snow scenes are pretty to look at; however, I wouldn't want to BE there. Brrr. Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
It's 5 PM and my plow man still hasn't come!
I love that painting; it's very restful.
A beautiful snowy picture - both inside and out. Do you really have to pay every time it snows? Thank goodness in Colorado the sun comes out before noon and melts it away!! Enjoy your week. Sally
our snow only last a day...nice pics!
Love your pretty snow picture, and the scene out the window is pretty also. laurie
That's a pretty snow picture. I really like how the warm glow of the light inside the barn is cast outside. It's as if to welcome a person in.
The views from your windows are wonderful. It reminds me of a movie. While I enjoy looking at snow, I'm glad I don't have to contend with it. We had a "cold" day yesterday and today it's very spring like...Spring really is on it's way.
Thanks for stopping by and clarifying the snow plow thingy!! I guess we all have various things we deal with - that's one of the interesting things about blogging. I learn so much about different things. Right now, it is so dry in Colorado that we are having wild fires already. Send us your snow!!!! Sally
