Thrifty and Thrift Store Thursday - One Dollar Spree

Thrifty Thursday is hosted by Leigh at Tales From Bloggeritaville.

I am also linking this post to Thrift Store Thursday with hostess Holly at Homebody, so I’m linking up for that as well.
In a stop at the community thrift store yesterday I found three Mikasa "English Countryside" bread plates and was told they would be ten cents each. A few weeks ago I had found the dessert sized plate in the same pattern in the same thrift shop for 25 cents.

The design is sculpted in white on white and consists of leaves, fruits and trellises.I then found three yellow place mats, a blue apron, and a white scarf. When I took them to the manager, she looked at them and said "The plates are ten cents each…let’s just say a dollar for all."

The yellow place mats are 100% cotton.
The apron is in blue with burgundy paisley design and has white lace edging, including on the pocket.

The off-white scarf is for cold weather, made of 75% mohair and 25% wool. It was made in Scotland for Lord and Taylor.

Thanks for coming by. Please visit again soon. Leave a comment for me if you can.
Be sure to visit the two hostesses listed above for more thrifting fun.

One dollar!!! Holy guacamole, Batman!! You are a "capital" thrifter!

Isn't it great to get a basketload of really sweet goodies for practically nothing. I love it all -- the plates, the scarf (woo-hoo), the apron, and the placemats (which I'm always looking for in yellow to match MY kitchen. So, send them all over -- I'll give you a quarter!!)

Hi Carrie,
Don’t you just love thrift stores? I know I do and garage sales also. Lately, plates have been one of my favorite things to search for. I found 6 that match a set I have, which is discontinued. I really did the happy dance that day! ~Cathy~
