Vintage Thingies Thursday – Thrifted Ornies

Yesterday I stopped in at the community thrift shop. There I found two battered boxes of vintage tree ornaments tumbling out of their boxes. At the cashiers I was told 25 cents each -- 50 cents for the two boxes! Take a look at what I got:

The first box is labelled ‘Christmas Balls’ and the items inside wrapped in paper towels:

On the inside were about 14 lovely vintage glass ornaments, plus one that was smashed.

There was also a tiny little gold angel with a string to hang as an ornament. It's nearly 1.5 inches. It will go on my miniature tree of mini angels.

The second box was an Entenmann’s box for Apple Strudel

Inside were more vintage glass ornaments, including a little red violin. All were in great ccondition.

These will be added to my vintage tree which I set up last year:

Thank you for visiting today; I hope you will return soon. To see more vintage treasures, please visit Coloradolady for a list of participating posts.

Oh what lovely old ornaments! You are so lucky! What a bargain. I love your old tree. After my thrifting today I think I need something like that too. I love your nativity under your tree.

Not only is that a bargain for vintage ornaments, they are all in good shape and are different shapes other than just spheres. I bet these would be $2.00 or more an ornament on ebay!

WOW, that is so wonderful. What an amazing find. Makes me want to hit up some thrift stores, although I hear in our town that the volunteers grab up the really amazing finds before ever placing them out for the public.

BEAUTIFUL! I'm always looking, but can never find ornaments like those here...
We had a 6' silver tinsel tree when I was growing up... Sure wish I could find one now!

Love all your pictures...

The vintage ornaments are a wonderful find.

Your vintage tree reminds me of my mother's tree, many years ago.

What a fab find!!! At our thrift store everything is so much more expensive, because
its vintage they'd want way way more than what you paid! I get better deals at garage sales!!!

50 cents.....50 CENTS!!!!! what a find. What a lucky girl you were. I would not find anything like that around here and if I did...it would be super expensive, the thrift shop owners around here know what they have! loved this post and your ornaments.
