Vintage Thingies Thursday –Books On Antiques

For this week’s VTT I’d like to share a few vintage books I’ve picked up from thrift and antique stores. These titles are all on antiques.
Genuine Antique Furniture by Arthur DeBles, copyright in 1929. This covers furniture from the gothic era American furniture up to 1840.

A small paperback edition of How to Know American Antiques by Alice Winchester, Editor of the Magazine Antiques, c1951

Handbook of Popular Antiques by Katherine Morrison McClinton, c1946.

Here are some inside pages from this last book; The Contents shows that it covers all sorts of collectibles from Delft to Parian wares, paperweights to buttons.

Thanks for stopping by today; do come again soon. To see more vintage things, please visit Lisa at Confessions of an Apron Queen for a list of participating posts.

Great books! Our thrift store has a couple of these that have been sitting around for awhile now - maybe someone will be inspired by your post and pick them up! *whistling* LOL. :)

YOU REMINDED ME OF A BOOK I USED TO HAVE THAT GOT LOST ALONG THE WAY SOMEWHERE.I WOULD SO LOVE TO HAVE IT BACK.MY MOM WAS A BEAUTICIAN BEFORE WE HAD TO HAVE LICENSES.SHE WAS ALWAYS SO TALENTED ABOUT ANYTHING.IF SHE TRIED,SHE COULD DO IT.
ANYWAY,SHE GAVE ME HER BOOK SHE USED FOR BEAUTY TREATMENTS.IT WOULD BE VERY USEABLE TODAY.
I REMEMBER IN IT,USING LEMON JUICE TO BLEACH HAIR.CUCUMBER FACIALS,AND SO MANY THINGS I CANNOT REMEMBER.ALL THE PRODUCTS WERE MADE IN HER KITCHEN.
THE WAY WE HAVE TURNED BACK TO NATURAL NOWDAYS,IT WOULD BE A GOLDMINE.BUT.....
YOUR BOOKS ARE FABULOUS...ANN
