Lemons, Daffodils, Cabbages and Things

Be sure to visit our hostess Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more Tablescape Thursday posts.
Since the white tablewares are vintage, I am also linking to Suzanne’s Vintage Thingies Thursday. See more posts listed by Suzanne at Coloradolady.

I have prepared a luncheon table set with motifs of spring daffodils, summer lemons and other touches of warm seasons. Vintage white dinner plates, bread and butter plates, cups and saucers, creamer and sugar, play off leafy green ceramics from Portugal.

PLACE SETTING:
Placemats – lemon shaped quilted cotton from Marshalls
Napkins – lemon striped damask by Waterford
Napkin rings – Ceramic daffodils
Flatware – Towle "London Shell" silverplate, and sterling forks with bone handles
Goblets – Fostoria "Virginia" in brown

Canonsburg "American Traditional" dinner plates are layered with Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage leaf luncheon plates , Wedgwood ivy Embossed Queens Ware bread and butter plates, topped with with Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage leaf bowls. Wedgwood “Patrician” cups and saucers are nearby.

OVERVIEW:

CENTERPIECE:

  12. I love the cabbage dishes from Portugal! There was a store in Montreal that carried all those cool dishes: fruits, eggplant, lobsters you name it that had it! Too bad it's closed now.

  16. What a way to summon spring! We got snow here (again) this morning. What I wouldn't give to have a bright and cheery table like yours to look at and take away the dreary white and grey outside, so pretty!

  19. Hello Carrie!
We have lost track of each other, haven't we? I updated my blog template a couple of times, and although I had saved the html, I lost track of my links. I slowly build them again! Anyway, this is a lovely table setting. I love cabbage pottery and daffodils are currently springing up in a pot in my balcony. Just beautiful and so bright!
I;ll stay around fro a while to catch up a bit. So glad you stopped by and thank you for the thoughtful comment!
    P.S. Happy 2010!
