Blue Monday and Metamorphosis Monday – Cross Stitch Picture

Blue Monday is sponsored by Sally at Smiling Sally.
In February 1980 I went to a house party for selling The Creative Circle needlework kits. Each guest was given a small cross stitch project to begin during the party. Mine was a girl bending down to pet a little mouse. However, I redesigned the mouse into a row of flowers.

I took the finished piece to a frame shop and had a blue mat made to pick up the blue in the cross stitch. It was then placed in a 6 3/4-inch square gilt frame with a round opening.

Since I morphed the mouse into a flower patch, I’m also linking this post to Metamorphosis Monday, hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

  1. What a sweet cross-stitch piece! I love how you framed it! I cross-stitch, too. Do you frame with glass or without?

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

  5. Stephanie,
All four of the needlework pieces I’ve done are framed with glass. I feel that keeps them dust free. However, I do have some that I bought without glass and I have just left them as is.
    All my best to you,
    Carrie

Wow what a fantastic cross stitch and the blue mat really sets it off.
I am so glad you chose flowers not that the mouse wouldn't have been cute but I love flowers.

    Blessings to you.
