Tea Cup Tuesday, is co-hosted by Martha at Martha’s Favorites and Terri at Artful Affirmations.
My teacup for this Tuesday was made in Ireland. This pattern is Belleek "Tridacna" [5th mark 1955-65], a lovely sea shell design.
The pale yellow cup and saucer feel so thin and so light, but it is strong porcelain. This thin irridescent porcelain is called parian china.
The handle is a delicate ring circle, with tiny branches at top and bottom.
Here I pair the exquisite cup and saucer with a Fleetwood vase with an irridescent glaze. This vase is designed as a tree trunk and is embellished with 22 kt. gold. On the tree branch is a golden squirrel holding a nut.
Please visit Martha and Terri at the links above to see more lovely teacups, and also to link to your own post.
I am also linking to Tea Pot and Tea Things Tuesday. Click here to visit other participants. I trust you are enjoying your week...God bless!

Beautiful cup. I have looked at Belkeek before but I do not own any. You are fortunate. Take care.
That is a beautiful Beleek cup and saucer. I've never seen the soft yellow before and I really like the seashell design. The Fleetwood vase is lovely too.
Thank you for stopping by Concetta's Cafe today! Your beautiful cup reminds me of lusterware - I love that - simply beautiful!

Hi: Thank you for all that information on the Belleek. I have that same cup and I did not know the name of the pattern. I also did not think that it was strong china. Thank you so much for sharing this stunning cup! Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
What a gorgeous cup and saucer. I've never heard of Belleek before but this one is very elegant.

I have always yearned for a Belleck teacup. Thank you for sharing it and some history. The tree vase is a nice compliment to it and the wee little squirrel is so dear.
Thank you for sharing with all of this. We look forward to seeing you next week.
Have a blessed week. Pam
