Having been side tracked by a very bad head and chest cold for the past week and a half, I have not been able to do any holiday posts (quite in contrast to holiday 2007 and 2008). Then, just as I was writing this today, the power went off for three hours.
For VTT today I’m sharing a couple holiday aprons – one fairly new, the other vintage from Ebay. Since my kitchen has a Christmas tree theme with dishes, candles, salt and peppers and figurines,
I bought the matching linens from Spode, including a bib apron:
The second is a green gingham half apron with cross stitch embroidery forming trees on the pockets.
Note the row of pockets across the apron:
Darker green and red thread makes a pretty pattern.

Happy Holidays!

Well, I WILL COMMENT - - -
My FAVORITE of the two aprons is the top one. In fact, if you will just ship it my way, I'll be GLAD to model it on Christmas Eve when my family gathers in. Wink wink
Merry Christmas!!!
Great aprons! I love the vintage green check with the chicken scratch embroidery-I love it whenever anyone takes a simple item (like an apron) and makes it special with just a little effort!
Hope you feel better soon and are totally well for the holidays!
Miri – Thank you for your get well wishes. I am doing much better today.
Yes, handwork really adds so much to an everyday item.
Merry Christmas to you and yours,
Carrie

Yes, I was late in posting because Blogger would not upload my photos. I finally had to buy more photo storage in order to continue to post.
The Spode apron is really stunning, isn't it. I am glad I got it several years ago, because I haven't seen it in the stores.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones,
Carrie
