Thankful Thursday - Easter's Gift

My grateful list today includes thankfulness for:
  • The glad assurance that…
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls." 1Pet. 2:24-25 NIV
  • Physical recovery from the activities of the past couple of weeks. My life has changed significantly since I’ve taken on care of my 89½ year old mother, who came for a one week visit while my sister and brother-in-law were vacationing. However, she decided to stay here instead of returning to my sister’s house. Last week my brother, another sister and her husband, our aunt and I worked to clear her belongings from her senior citizen’s apartment, which she had not occupied for many months.
  • A better understanding of my own tendencies to get stressed instead of relying on Christ’s power to maintain a positive attitude. Also, more frequent correction to a more positive perspective.
  • Stopping during this time leading up to Easter Sunday to reflect that,

"Christ was treated as we deserve,
that we might be treated as He deserves.
He was condemned for our sins,
in which He had no share,
that we might be justified by His righteousness,
in which we had no share.
He suffered the death which was ours,
that we might receive the life which was His."
—The Desire of Ages, p. 25

Sounds like you had a lot to deal with this week. It's neat that you are able to end this week reflecting on thankfulness. The Lord will probably provide many more opportunities to grow, now that your mother is living with you.

Hi Carrie,

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Oh, I just love all your tea-cups. I collect them too!

I have my favorites still in storgage. We moved over a year ago, and I have not displayed them yet.

Blessings to you and your family this wonderful Easter Season♥

This is a beautiful post, Carrie. Thanks for sharing your heart so honestly. I really liked the quote at the end. It reminded me of the song, "Amazing Love- you Are My King." It goes something like, "I'm forgiven because you were forsaken. I'm accepted because you were condemned. I'm alive and well, your Spirit lives within me because you died and rose again." I look forward to reading more of your posts, Carrie.

In honor of Easter, I am giving away a great book by Max Lucado. Come on over for a chance to win. Here is the link:
