Tuesday Tabletops and Tea Events

Tuesday is now especially for tea, teacups and all tea-time fun! Today, March 9, is the first Tea Cup Tuesday, co-hosted by Martha at Martha’s Favorites and Terri at Artful Affirmations. Also new today is Teatime Tuesday, hosted by Lady Katherine at Lady Katherine's Tea Parlor.
In addition, I just learned of another Tea Time Tuesday, hosted by Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage, now in its 7th week.

I am also linking to: Table Top Tuesday, Tea Party Tuesday, Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays, and Three or More Tuesday.
For Tabletop Tuesday, I thought to share the ensembles on top of my hutch and on top of the refrigerator. The cabinet on the hutch holds my blue and white teacup collection. On top I set a lighted Victorian house (a dollar find at a consignment shop) and my Bordallo Pinheiro bowls, found affordably at TJ Maxx.

The bowls rest on some of my tea books.

Nearby a $3 shelf unit holds blue and white china on the top shelf and cobalt glasses on the bottom shelf. White items including salt and peppers, round out the display

At touch of literary beauty is provided by three word plaques. "Home Sweet Home" and the framed poem, "God Hath Not Promised…" are thrift store finds for less than a dollar each. The Spode dish, "The heart that loves is always young" is from TJ Maxx.

God hath not promised skies ever blue,

Flower-strewn pathways always for you.

God hath not promised sun without rain,

Joy without sorrow, pwace without pain;

But He hath promised strength from above,

Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

The carved frame beautifully compliments the manuscript style.

The refrigerator top stores and displays my blue and white Portuguese tureen and small Bordallo bowls.

In the study I changed out the blue and white tea items from last week and concentrated on mostly white items.

The teapot by Windsor is white trimmed in gold - Made in England. It was a $16.00 find at Marshalls. I enjoy the pretty curving shapes and the gilt scrolls and knob.

The teacup and saucer are "Contessa Gala" by Mikasa, The dessert plate is Mikasa "Contessa."

Note that the Gala items (cup and saucer) have added floral embellishment

A brass candlestick is echoed by a brass colonial lady bell.

Teapots are the subject of two books for browsing while enjoying a simple cup of tea.
